What is a bounce rate? #
When someone clicks on one of your pages and leaves without viewing another page on your site, they contribute to your bounce rate.
These bounced visitors are only interacting with one page on your site. This measurement is helpful because it quantifies the value of your website. Persuasive content and an effective call to action should encourage visitors to click on a new page, download free content or even purchase your product. That being said, a high bounce rate isn’t the end of the world. Certain pages, like your home page, are more likely to receive bounced visitors than others.
How do you view your bounce rate? #
To see which visitors bounced after viewing one page, go to Analytics > Entry Page
The bounce rate column is on the right.
To learn more about website traffic on a specific page, click on the corresponding magnifying glass.
This will pull up a breakdown of the page views.
If your bounce rate is high, don’t panic! By developing a content creation strategy, you can increase your website traffic and cut back on your bounce rate.
